Vlora City

Vlora is biggest center of the southern Albania. It is the city which holds a very important part in Albanian history in the war for independence. Albanian patriots declared independence in city of Vlora in 1912.

In ancient times the city port of Orik about 15 min south of Vlora was a Greek colony that played important role at that time. About 1 hour north of Vlora is located the famous Apollonia which was one of the most important coastal city of the Illyria at that time. It was the city where Roman Emperor Octavian has gone to school at that time. Nowadays Apollonia is one of best touristic attractions around the southern Albania, together with characteristic city of Berat which is approx 1 hours way from Vlora.

In Vlora area tourists can also visit the monastery of Zvernec, castle of Kanina, Llogara national park and after crossing the park an amazing panorama will open in front of your eyes. It is Dhermi the pearl of Albanian Riviera.

All along the coastal Radhima beach you can find restaurants that cook the traditional lamb in fire and certainly sea food directly from the sea.
